Caitlyn Lee-Mei-Jin Merry - educator, artist, designer, activist
I am an indigenous educator, academic, activist, and artist with two decades of experience in humanist advocacy and driving institutional and social change. Through research, storytelling, and design, I challenge dominant narratives, amplify voices, and inspire action - creating spaces for learning, reflection, and collective empowerment toward a more just, liberatory, and sustainable future.


WHAT I DO
Research
I uncover hidden narratives and practices, analyse power structures, and explore grassroots movements at the intersections of history, culture, and innovation.
Indigenous rights, resistance movements, grassroots initiatives, empowerment, institutions and change
Design
I craft learning experiences, artifacts, technologies and strategies that bridge tradition and innovation to inspire meaningful change.

Advocacy
I amplify suppressed/oppressed/repressed voices and groups and challenge dominant narratives and structures of violence, to drive awareness, solidarity, and justice

MY EXPERIENCE
Learning Technology Manager + Academic @ Brunel University London
Present Position
I manage the University's Learning Technology systems, including the VLE (Virtual Learning Environment), and work with academics to provide accessible and engaging learning experiences for students.
Junior Lecturer @ Cambridge University
I created, designed and delivered curriculum for Masters level course Social Innovation in a Digital World, a first-of-its-kind course for academic-professionals.


Learning Designer @ Raspberry Pi Foundation
I produced world-leading educational STE(A)M resources and training, online (on Futurelearn and http://projects.raspberrypi.org) and in person. I also wrote newsletters and articles in the MagPi, Hackspace, and Wireframe, as well as working with partners such as The Scouts and Lego; and on policy and social impact initiatives such as the UK Government's Gender Balance in Computing program,
